" My 17 years of membership in the Golden Sands Home Builders Association has done more than put money in my bank account. In the beginning it provided information, education and role models that helped shape my future. Eleven years ago I became a business owner. The friends and associates I made at the meetings of the GSHBA gave me the encouragement and support I needed to become a small business owner. The network of professionals created through the GSHBA became a valuable source of information and referrals. In the last six years I have started to pay the association back by volunteering on committees and serving on the board of directors. This has given me more than it has given them. I have learned the history of the association and the hard working members that came before me. I have participated in "Business Day in Madison" and directly lobbied the members of the legislature that represent the people of central Wisconsin. "People from time to time have asked me, "why join -why the Golden Sands Home Buiders Association?" In the beginning, I wasn't really sure. What I did know is that I needed an anchor in my business.
