Do you want to know what our members think of GSHBA membership? Below are a few testimonials from our members.

Pam"When I joined the GSHBA, I didn't know what to expect. Since joining, I have met many wonderful people and have been involved in some great committees. The networking has helped me personally with consumer choices and also referring customers to companies that belong to the GSHBA. I would recommend anyone in the building field to join this organization.

Pam Zinda, United FCS

Jennifer"I joined the GSHBA to become more involved in the industry in which I work. GSHBA provides an excellent networking opportunity to build relationships and make connections wtih others in my line of business. I enjoy being a part of an organization that encourages volunteer work and gives back to our community."

Jennifer Novotny,  The Portage County Bank

Aaron "We at Stevens Point Log Homes Inc. see the importance of networking with other builders and subcontractors in the area. By being a member of the GSHBA it allows us the opportunity to work with 180 industry professionals within the association. It's a great experience to work with other businesses in our community that all have the same pride in the products and services that we provide for our customers."

Aaron Cordy, Stevens Point Log Homes Inc.

John" My 17 years of membership in the Golden Sands Home Builders Association has done more than put money in my bank account. In the beginning it provided information, education and role models that helped shape my future. Eleven years ago I became a business owner. The friends and associates I made at the meetings of the GSHBA gave me the encouragement and support I needed to become a small business owner. The network of professionals created through the GSHBA became a valuable source of information and referrals. In the last six years I have started to pay the association back by volunteering on committees and serving on the board of directors. This has given me more than it has given them. I have learned the history of the association and the hard working members that came before me. I have participated in "Business Day in Madison" and directly lobbied the members of the legislature that represent the people of central Wisconsin. I helped them to understand the impact on the shelter industry of  current and proposed laws and rule changes. I feel the state (WBA) and locals (like GSHBA) have been the voice of reason that keeps housing affordable and regulation reasonable in Wisconsin. I have seen how even small contributions of our members make large impacts through community outreach and public service  ans as a social group, support our members in times of loss. This involvement has made me a better citizen, businessman, and all it cost me was a few hours. It is one of my better "returns on investment" that I can point to. Last, it has given me the abilit to get to know and work with the younger members that will shape the future of the building industry. With the use of technology and integrity they will produce a more efficient, durable and desirable home of the future and a community worth living in."

"There are two main reasons why I am a member of the Golden  Sands Home Builders Association. The first is that it is the best way  to  get to know the local people and businesses in our industry. The  second is that it is really the only way to be active and make a  difference locally in our industry.

 BJ Welling,  Welling Woodworks, Inc.

Jeff Currier"People from time to time have asked me, "why join -why the Golden Sands Home Buiders Association?" In the beginning, I wasn't really sure. What I did know is that I needed an anchor in my business. Before I joined, I went to a meeting and observed the members. I asked questions. After leaving that meeting, I could see some of the advantages. I could see members with a common goal towards the building industry. People willing to share knowledge and experiences. I saw people striving to better their business, association and communtity. As the years progressed, I could feel myself be drawn into the community of builders and associate members, sharing my thoughts and experiences. I found a need to participate at a higher level and volunteered within committees and ultimately board positions. With more than 15 years in the association, I have been amazed at the family of volunteers that have dedicated much of their time to help others within the association and within the community we call Portage County. If you were to give words to describe the benefits belonging to the Golden Sands Home Builders Association, they are: Belonging, Family, Knowledge, Experience, Credibility, Exposure, A voice within your trade and community"
