Leadership Award - BJ Welling

The Leadership Award was established in 2001 to recognize our retiring president. 2011 GSHBA President BJ Welling, owner of Welling Kitchens and Bath has been actively involved in GSHBA since 2005 and a member since 1999.   He has served on the Board of Directors since 2005, chaired the Awards, Home Show and P.R. Committees and in 2009 received the Associate of the Year Award.   As the 2011 President, BJ was an active leader for all GSHBA activities and events.  Under BJ's leadership, the Association donated the labor for the Portage County Historical Society’s roofing project at the Heritage Park in Plover.  After another challenging year, our Association recognizes the importance of having a dedicated and involved member as president.

Builder of the Year Award - Jon Marty

The Builder Member of the Year Award is presented to a builder member who exemplifies the Associations’ commitment to the community and to the building industry.  This year’s recipient, Jon Marty, is owner of Jon Marty's Custom Carpentry, LLC.  Marty has been a member of GSHBA since 2002 and in the building business for over 10 years.  Marty has served as a Director on the local level and chaired the Awards, Parade of Homes and Maintenance Committees.  Jon’s hard work and dedication ensured that the 2011 Parade of Homes was a success.  Currently, he is a Director on the GSHBA Board.

Associate of the Year Award - Bruce Woyak

The Associate Member of the Year Award is presented to an individual whose commitment and generosity to the Association and the community have served as an example to others.  Bruce Woyak of Central Door Solutions, LLC/Integrated Technology Consulting is this year’s recipient and has been a member of the Association since 2004.  Bruce has chaired the P.R. Committee and has been a member of the Home Show and Parade Committees. In May, Bruce was elected as a new Board Member.  As the 2011 P.R. co-chair, Bruce spearheaded new and exciting projects for our signature events.

Outstanding Member Award - Jeff Currier

The Outstanding Member Award is presented to the GSHBA member who has benefited the Association over the past year by showing an extraordinary commitment to the membership, the community and the industry. Jeff Currier is owner of Currier Builders, LLC and has been a member of GSHBA since 1989.  Jeff has served on the GSHBA Board of Directors since 2001 and has been a WBA Director since 2005. He has worked on numerous GSHBA Committees and has chaired the “Build a Better WI,” Community Service, Maintenance, Membership and Nominating Committees.  In 2010, he served as GSHBA president.  Jeff received the Leadership Award and the Builder of the Year Award in 2010.  Also during 2010-11, Jeff worked tireless to improve the management of the GSHBA website and improved our Parade of Homes web pages.

President's Award - Clay Pitcher

The President’s Award is presented to a GSHBA member who has worked tirelessly to benefit the Association.  BJ Welling, 2011 GSHBA President, selected Clay Pitcher as his President’s Award recipient because, “of his out-of-the-ordinary energy to move projects forward and get things done.”  Clay Pitcher is owner of Clear Valley Construction, LLC and Clear Valley Exteriors, LLC and has been a member of GSHBA since 2005.  He has served as a Director on the GSHBA Board of Directors from 2009-2011 and has been a member of the Home Show Committee.
